چکیده

The CMU MIDI Toolkit supports the development of complex interactive computer music performance systems. Four areas supported by the system are: input handling, memory management, synchronization, and timing (scheduling and sequencing). These features are described and then illustrated by their use in two performance systems.

High Performance Spatial Visualizaion of Traffic Data

Current visualizations techniques for identifying performance bottlenecks with loop-detector traffic data are not sufficient for large data sets to create interactive visualization and analysis of possible scenarios. This study seeks to develop a more effective means of processing data obtained at the Traffic Management Center (TMC) to identify recurring patterns in the traffic data that may be...

Prediction and Proactivity in Real-Time Interactive Music Systems

We advocate for the use of predictive techniques in interactive computer music systems. We suggest that the inclusion of prediction can assist in the design of proactive rather than reactive computational performance partners. We summarize the significant role prediction plays in human musical decisions, and the only modest use of prediction in interactive music systems to date. After describin...

Interactive Visualization of Component- Based Applications

Component-based software engineering is a mature field of study that enables better reusability of already written code by introducing coarser-grained components that are similar to similar concepts known from other industries. Components enable to create even more complex software systems than before but there is no smart way how to visualize the structure of these systems. It is well known th...
